Analysis of a similar sequence:

I will use the scene from …….. and to make my own version which fits requirements for my coursework …..

Shows + TV shows I will watch in order to find a similar sequence:\

·      Modern
·      Scene of crime/

I was inspired to create this scene by the killmonger theme from the black panther so I will also analyse scenes of that character from the film

Killmonger museum heist scene:

·        Modern, hipster clothing- denim jacket, clear glasses, plain white t-shirt
·        Acts nonchalant and innocent of poisoning woman,
·        Music builds suspense as women begins dying, scene becomes more fast paced and interesting
·        Music stops when people are shot (crime committed)
·        Beat drops when pace quickens, during shot of security footage
·        Close up of kill monger’s face audiences recognises and establishes character as well as being able to see smirking, proud look on his face
·        Beats drops again during escape from building

Killmonger throne scene:

·        Killmonger in centre of frame
·        Camera zooms out, dramatically revealing fire surrounding him
·        Abstract camera angles and movement:
·        Scene begins upside down, camera tilts 180 degrees until it’s upright
·        Camera follows him towards throne
·        Camera movement is perfectly in time with character so it become upright as soon as he sits on throne
·        Shows the distortion of Wakanda now that Killmonger is king instead of T’Challa

The dark knight opening scene- bank robbery scene

·        Hand help camera
·        Camera follows action
·        Cross editing
·        Camera always moving, even slightly
·        Fast-passed editing
·        Clown masks
·        Characters wearing dark colours
·        Camera always level with action
·        Camera looks up at Joker’s character- low angle
·        Quick, Upbeat music

·        Music build tension to character reveal, suddenly becomes less tense after reveal, in sync with mask removal
